NCO and BBCCO team up to play 'Symphonic Ellington' Series
Fresh from our debut at the BBC Proms, the Nu Civilisation Orchestra will be playing more of Duke Ellington's extended works at the London Jazz Festival 2019.
The Nu Civilisation Orchestra have been invited to join the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall to perform works from our 'Symphonic Ellington' Series.
I will be featured on piano for 'New World a Comin' and will be directing my arrangement of Billy Strayhorn's Chelsea Bridge. The night will finish with Ellington's 8 movement masterwork 'The River' led by conductor Branwell Tovey. We will be also showing off the Nu Civilisation Orchestra string section for the first time too!
It's great to work with the BBC Concert Orchestra again. They will be doing a programme of newly commissioned work in the first half which I highly recommend seeing.
